ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive Chennai

​

Pick up from Chennai airport/railway station. Check in to the hotel. Later proceed for a city tour of Chennai. Visit the St. Thomas Mount , Fort St. George, San Thoma Basilica , the National Art Gallery, Kapalesshwarar Temple etc. Evening free for you to relax at Marina Beach, the longest natural urban beach in India . Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

Checkout from the hotel and drive to Mahabalipuram- a 7th century former port city is famous for its rock-cut shore temples. En route visit Kancheepuram which includes Kailasanathar Temple, Ekambareshwarar Temple, The Vardarajanperumal Temple. Check into the hotel. Later  proceed for a sightseeing of Mahabalipuram. Visit Shore Temple- overlooks the shore of the Bay of Bengal, Five Rathas, Arjuna’s Penance, and  Tiger’s Cave. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram - Chidambaram - Tanjore

After  breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Tanjore enroute visiting Chidambaram temple. Check into the hotel and thereafter start your sightseeing tours with the big temple ‘Brihandeswara’- 1000+ years old shrine, built by the esteemed Chola emperor Rajaraja and a fine masterpiece of Chola-styled architecture. Later, visit the nearby water tank Shivaganga and Thanjavur Palace, Royal Museum and Art Gallery. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4: Tanjore - Trichy 

Today after breakfast proceed to Trichy. Check in at the hotel. Later visit Ranganathaswamy Temple, Ucchippilliyar temple etc. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 5: Trichy - Madurai

 

Today after breakfast proceed to Madurai- an extremely sacred city.  Visit Meenakshi temple- India's greatest cultural & architectural landmark and Thousand Pillar Hall. Continue visiting Mariamman Teppakulam, Thirumalai Nayakar Palace , Koodal Alagar Temple, Gandhi Memorial Museum etc. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 6: Madurai - Rameshwaram

Proceed to Rameshwaram- the most sacred temple town of India. Later visit Ramanathaswamy temple, Agni Theertham , Rama Theertham, Lakshmanan Theertham 22Well Theertham , Panch Muki Hanuman Temple. Continue visiting  Pamban Bridge, Ramar Patham, Danushkodi  etc as time permits.Overnight stay at hotel

Day 7: Rameshwaram - Kanyakumari

Today morning drive to Kanyakumari - once known as the "Alexandaria of the East". Check in at the hotel. Later visit Vivekananda rock, temples etc. Evening witness the sunset. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Kanyakumari - Trivandrum - Departure

After breakfast drive Trivandrum. Visit Padmanabhaswamy temple, Trivandrum zoo, Kowdiar palace, Napier museum etc; Later  drop Trivandrum airport/railway station for your onward journey.
