ENCHANTING SRI LANKA

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive Colombo -  Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage - Kandy


On arrival you will be welcomed by representative at the Airport and transferred to Kandy.  Enroute visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the crippled elephants. Seeing this large herd of these behemoths is a great experience you can have on a Sri Lanka trip. Later in the evening enjoy a city tour of Kandy - the last kingdom of the Sinhalese, taking in the sights of Upper Lake Drive and the Market Square on the way to pay homage to one of the most sacred religious sites in Sri Lanka. Evening enjoy a cultural show. Overnight stay at your hotel in Kandy


Day 2: Kandy


Today after breakfast you will be proceed to visit  the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic- a world-renowned place of worship, where the left Canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. The temple, named as a world heritage by  UNESCO  in 1988, is adorned with intricate carvings using gold, silver, bronze, and ivory. Also visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Gem Museum & Gem Shop and in the evening watch the Cultural Show with its colorful traditional dances and delightful music. Overnight stay at your hotel in Kandy


Day 3: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya 


Today morning after the breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya - the City of Lights, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. Enroute visit Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple, located on the summit of the very beautiful and scenic mountain in Ramboda and looks towards part of Kotmale Valley, 3,200 feet above sea level. According to the legend, this is where Hanuman searched for Sita in the jungles. There is also said to be a pond - the ‘Sita Tear Pond' - here, which was formed from Sita's tears. Later enjoy Ramboda waterfalls, Tea Factory & Tea Garden. Overnight stay at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya. 


Day 4:  Nuwara Eliya 


Today after the breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of  Nuwara Eliya .  Visit Sitha Amman Temple.  This place is believed to be the site where Sita was held captive by Asur Samrat (Devil King) Ravana, and where she prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Continue visiting Gregory Lake, Victoria Park . Overnight stay at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya 


Day 5:  Nuwara Eliya - Bentota


Today drive to Bentota. Arrive at Bentota - the city of the Golden Beaches. The city boasts in its lush greenery, natural lagoons and estuaries that make it ideal for recreational water sports. Bentota is also home to the majestic marine turtles. Proceed for a city tour of Bentota includes Turtle Hatchery and enjoy Madu River Boat Ride.  Enjoy water sports activities at your own or simply lie on the beach and relax. . Overnight stay at your hotel in Bentota

Day 6:  Bentota - Colombo


Today morning drive to Colombo the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Arrive at Colombo. Enjoy the city tour of Colombo which covers the Gangarama Temple, National Museum, Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park, National Museum, Twin World Trade Center towers, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Independence Hall at Independence Square, prominent Buddhist, Hindu, Islam and Christian places of worship. Evening enjoy shopping. Overnight stay at your hotel in Colombo.


Day 7: Departure Colombo 


After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight back to India.
